Disability in Australia

As disability awareness and population rise, the need for disability support workers becomes more crucial. Roughly 4.4 million Australians have a disability, with the probability increasing as they age. If support worker numbers remain constant or decrease, many requiring assistance may lack necessary support.

In numerous cases, people with disabilities depend on untrained family or friends for support, who usually volunteer their services and face burnout. Approximately 10.8% of Australians, or 2.65 million individuals, function as carers. While praiseworthy, this arrangement can be unsustainable and may not meet specific needs.

Therefore, the growing necessity for support workers calls for continuous skill improvement. Employment patterns indicate the ever-growing importance of disability support worker training centres, presenting outstanding career opportunities for those genuinely interested.
