Disability Support Courses Bankstown

A Certificate IV in Disability Support equips you with the skills to deliver person-centred care and support individuals with disability to live more independently.

To participate in this course there is a pre-requisite of a completed CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

Australian residents living in NSW may be eligible to have all or part of their course fees subsidised using the Smart & Skilled State Government funding scheme.

Students who do not qualify for funding:

Start with a $200 deposit, then pay as little as $42.89 per week for 12 months.

Government-subsidised training is available for eligible NSW residents. It applies to courses on the NSW Skills List, from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma. Use the online estimate tool to confirm eligibility and see your student fee.

Our disability support courses can open doors to further education and job growth. With a Certificate III in Individual Support, you may go on to study a Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate IV in Ageing Support, or another course at the Certificate IV level in community services. Those who complete the Certificate IV in Disability may move on to a Diploma of Community Services. Both qualifications can also lead to higher-level education, such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Yes, transitioning is possible. Our courses teach person-centred skills that are essential in both aged care and disability support, giving you the flexibility to work across different areas of the care industry.

The average salary for a disability support worker in Australia ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and the specific role. This includes positions like personal care assistants and residential care officers.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be available if you’ve studied before or have experience in the field. You’ll need to enrol in a qualification at Breakthru College and complete the RPL form included in the Learner Handbook. A $250 admin fee is charged per unit.

Yes, you can enrol in disability courses online with Breakthru College, with self-paced learning designed to fit around your schedule.

Funding options depend on your location and individual circumstances. Breakthru College offers subsidised training in both New South Wales and Queensland for eligible students through State Government funding programs.
