With a Certificate IV in Disability Support, you’ll learn how to take a person-centred approach that empowers people with disability to increase their independence.

To participate in this course there is a pre-requisite of a completed CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

Australian residents living in NSW may be eligible to have all or part of their course fees subsidised using the Smart & Skilled State Government funding scheme.

Students who do not qualify for funding:

Start with a $200 deposit, then pay as little as $42.89 per week for 12 months.

Certificate III in Individual Support is an introductory course ideal for those new to the sector, focusing on practical support with everyday tasks at home or in community settings. Certificate IV in Disability is a higher-level course, best suited for those seeking leadership positions like Support Coordinator or Team Leader, supporting people with disability to achieve greater independence.|Certificate III in Individual Support provides foundational training for new entrants into the sector, focusing on hands-on roles where you assist with daily living in homes or communities. Completing a disability support course with us can lead to ongoing study and career progression. After the Certificate III in Individual Support, you could pursue a Certificate IV in Disability, a Certificate IV in Ageing Support, or another community services qualification at Certificate IV level. If you complete the Certificate IV in Disability, you may choose to continue with a Diploma of Community Services. Both courses can also serve as a pathway to higher education, including diploma or bachelor-level study in related areas.

You can, yes. Because our courses focus on person-centred care—valued in both aged care and disability support—you’ll be equipped to move between roles and enjoy a broader range of career options.

Disability support workers, personal care assistants, and residential care officers in Australia typically earn between $60,000 and $90,000 annually, with exact figures influenced by location, role, and level of experience.

If you have a background in relevant work or past study, you might qualify for RPL when enrolling at Breakthru College. Students must enrol in a course and complete the RPL Application Form in the Learner Handbook, with a $250 fee per unit assessed.

Yes, Breakthru College provides disability training online, making it easier to study at your own pace while managing other aspects of your life.

Your study costs may be reduced if you’re eligible for government subsidies. Funding support is available through State Government programs in QLD and NSW for qualifying students.
