Picture yourself in a job that’s both varied and fulfilling. Aged care offers the opportunity to support others and make a genuine impact every day.
Working in aged care is a meaningful role that allows you to support older people, their families, and the community. It’s a fulfilling career that lets you share in people’s lives as they grow older.
Australia is home to over 450,000 aged care workers across a range of settings, including residential care, home support, and commonwealth-funded programs.
With rising demand for aged care, the workforce is expected to grow significantly—to 980,000 workers according to government projections. Breakthru College provides the training you need to build a successful career in this dynamic and essential sector.

This qualification prepares support workers for roles in both community and residential environments. You’ll learn how to deliver person-centred care using individualised support plans for older people.
Support workers with this qualification carry out specialised duties across home, community, and residential settings. They work with greater independence and leadership while following established guidelines to deliver care based on individualised plans.

In contrast, the Certificate IV in Ageing Support focuses specifically on aged care and qualifies you for roles with increased autonomy.
Each full qualification course includes a required work placement, which typically involves 120 hours of supported practical training in an aged care setting.
Finishing one of our courses may open the door to higher qualifications like a diploma or bachelor-level program.
