Breakthru college celebrates with CASS

by | Jun 15, 2021 | News

breakthru College continue to partner with CASS (Chinese Australian Services Society) in South West Sydney to deliver quality training to their community members who are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

At the start of 2020, fifteen CASS members enrolled in the course Certificate III in Individual Support in order to improve their employment status. Many of these people were either unemployed, under-employed or women returning to work. Not only did the students face the challenge of studying in a second language, they were also forced to transition from face-to-face to online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite the language and technological challenges they faced, through the support of the CASS staff and their dedicated Breakthru College Trainer, the students successfully completed their course and work placement, whilst graduating on Wednesday 9 December 2020.

The graduation was an extremely happy event and a well-deserved celebration for all of the graduates. In addition, many of the students are now employed by CASS (in their residential facility) or their work placement providers, which has demonstrated the strength and relevance of this strong partnership between CASS and Breakthru College.
